Actually we are not that old.

Caffe 1920 was born in the year 2000 in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia.
We chose the name when we discovered that it was back in the '20s that in Northern Italy the first “al fresco” cafes opened for business.

The old continent was recovering from the destructions of World War I and sitting under the finally peaceful skies was a newly rediscovered pleasure.
We opened our 1st outlet on the 7th October 2000. From the very beginning, we developed our own personal style, which has been subsequently carried forward to all our outlets. By doing so, though, we made sure that we did not merely reproduce identical outlets; in fact, we wanted to ensure that each and every one could be developed with its own personal identity. This, we thought, could be chain store “Italian style”.

From the very start, Caffe 1920 offered the choice of good hearty meals ranging from most traditional pizza and pasta to a variety of fresh salads, sandwiches as well as new specialties.

It could not have be an Italian place though, without great coffee; in fact in all our cafes we serve only “Lavazza”, one of the best Italian brews. And of course let’s not forget our pastries, cakes and gelato, all traditional Italian items which could be hardly left out from any self respecting Italian place.

As the back bone of our business, we set up a fully equipped centralized kitchen, which serves as the main hub for the production and the distribution of all our products. From there we supply daily to all our stores.

Having a fully equipped centralized production center gave us the opportunity to start offering professional catering services. By focusing on innovative dishes, high quality, professionalism and style, we managed, in a short time, to become a respected and sought after name in the challenging world of catering.
